1. Local Physical Development
Plan (LPDP)
The necessary ammendments have been made to the final draft
of the LPDP, which is now with the Ministry of Lands waiting
the Minister's signature, howver, with an Ag. Minister in
office, we might have to wait a little longer befor this happens.
It is worth noting that the Ministry staff have been both
very cooperative and supportive.
3. The development Action Group
The group of representatives of neighborhood associations
continues to meet to discuss action to be taken on illegal
and irregular developments in the area. Some members are convinced
that we should adopt a harder line and take the city to court
on a test case development i.e. one which has been given planning
approval by the CCN even though it violates the city’s own
regulations.But others support the view that we should negotiate
a much closer working relationship with the city planners
within the framework of the LPDP so that such abuses do not
happen in future.
